Change to AFIA’s Auditor

Following approval by AFIA members at the 2024 AGM and consent from the Australian Securities & Investment Commission, Pitcher Partners Sydney has tendered their resignation as auditors of the Australian Finance Industry Association Limited, effective 14 February 2025, in accordance with Section 329(5) of the Corporations Act 2001.

LNP Audit and Assurance Pty Ltd has consented to being appointed the auditor of AFIA. LNP Audit and Assurance has confirmed their ability and resources to conduct an efficient and effective audit before the reporting deadline.

Over the past few years, Pitcher Partners Sydney has played a key role in elevating the governance standards within AFIA. Their assessments have provided insights into areas of focus and best practice internal controls, helping management to implement continuous improvement in our policies and processes appropriate for the size and complexity of the organisation.

The APES (Accounting Professional and Ethical Standards) Code prescribes a seven-year auditor rotation standard. FY24 was year seven for Pitcher Partners. Although not a regulatory requirement for AFIA, the rotation in auditor was implemented to bring new perspectives, experiences, and other best practices to the audit process.
