Strategic Plan for the Payments System: Consultation Paper

On 7 February 2023, AFIA made our submission to Treasury’s consultation on the Strategic Plan for the Payments System.

In that submission AFIA supported the Government’s principles for the payments system, being -- efficiency, innovation, accessibility, and trustworthiness.

Building on our previous submissions on the future of Australia’s payments system, AFIA believes regulation in this space must be targeted and right sized – proportionate, scalable, and functions-based.
